A lot of data has been released about Ashley Madison but some facts of the breach of the dating website's database remain stubbornly elusive, not least who are the hackers behind the attack?
They call themselves the Impact Team and seem to have formed solely to carry out the attack on the infidelity website. There is no evidence of the group stealing data elsewhere before it announced itself with the Ashley Madison attack on 15 July.
Comments made by Noel Biderman, chief executive of Avid Life Media, which owns Ashley Madison, soon after the hack became public suggested it knew the identity of at least one of the people involved.
"It was definitely a person here that was not an employee but certainly had touched our technical services," he told security blogger Brian Krebs.
Stronger skill set
Since then, little new information has been made public about the hack, leading some to assume that the information Avid had about a suspect would soon lead to an arrest.
But it did not, and now gigabytes of information have been released and no-one is any the wiser about who the hackers are, where they are located and why they attacked the site.
The group is technically pretty competent, according to independent security researcher The Grugq, who asked to remain anonymous.
"Ashley Madison seems to have been better protected than some of the other places that have been hit recently, so maybe the crew had a stronger skill set than normal," he told the BBC.
They have also shown that they are adept when it comes to sharing what they stole, said forensic security specialist Erik Cabetas in a detailed analysis of the data.
The data was leaked first via the Tor network because it is good at obscuring the location and identity of anyone using it. However, Mr Cabetas said the group had taken extra steps to ensure their dark web identities were not matched with their real-life identities.
The Impact Team dumped the data via a server that only gave out basic web and text data - leaving little forensic information to go on. In addition, the data files seem to have been pruned of extraneous information that could give a clue about who took them and how the hack was carried out.
Identifiable clues
The only potential lead that any investigator has is in the unique encryption key used to digitally sign the dumped files. Mr Cabetas said this was being employed to confirm the files were authentic and not fakes. But he said it could also be used to identify someone if they were ever caught.
But he warned that using Tor was not foolproof. High-profile hackers, including Ross Ulbricht, of Silk Road, have been caught because they inadvertently left identifiable information on Tor sites.
The Grugq has also warned about the dangers of neglecting operational security (known as opsec) and how extreme vigilance was needed to ensure no incriminating traces were left behind.
"Most opsec mistakes that hackers make are made early in their career," he said. "If they keep at it without changing their identifiers and handles (something that is harder for cybercriminals who need to maintain their reputation), then finding their mistakes is usually a matter of finding their earliest errors."
"I suspect they have a good chance of getting away because they haven't linked to any other identifiers. They've used Tor, and they've kept themselves pretty clean," he said. "There doesn't seem to be anything in their dumps or in their missives that would expose them."
The Grugq said it would need forensic data recovered from Ashley Madison around the time of the attack to track them down. But he said that if the attackers were skilled they might not have left much behind.
"If they go dark and never do anything again (related to the identities used for AM) then they will likely never be caught," he said.
Mr Cabetas agreed and said they would probably be unearthed only if they spilled information to someone outside the group.
"Nobody keeps something like this a secret. If the attackers tell anybody, they're likely going to get caught," he wrote.

Gov Idris Wada of Kogi State has approved the reimbursement of N276,769,400 to eligible candidates that sat for the 2014/2015 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) examinations in the state.
According to a statement issued by the Secretary of the WAEC Fees Refund Committee, Ibrahim Odoma, a total of 24,172 candidates were certified eligible to benefit from the funds released by the governor.
Mr. Odoma said a seven-man committee headed by Hajiya Maryam Ladi Ibrahim, had earlier screened the list of WAEC candidates from across public schools in the state with a view to ascertaining the actual number of eligible beneficiaries.
He said each beneficiary is to be refunded the sum of N11,450 which was the amount their parents had earlier paid for their registration.
It would be recalled that governor Wada had earlier promised to reimburse parents who paid for the 2014/2015 WAEC fees for their children and wards following the suspension of fees payments by government in order to ascertain the actual beneficiaries as well as amount involved.
The government was forced to suspend the payment last year following some alleged fraud leading to a demand of about N500million from government, which represented a huge difference against the figures paid in the previous years. The benefiting schools are now been issued bank draft to cover for students who are certified to have paid.
Parents and educationists across the state have continued to hail the decision of the government to redeem its promise to parents in the state through the refund of WAEC fees.
A foremost educationist, Chief Obaholo Kayode Osu said the governor’s action has helped to restore the confidence of Kogi people in his administration. He said the gesture of the Wada Administration will help to encourage parents to continue to enroll their children in school, having been assured of government’s support.
“What the governor has done will surely reinforce our advocacy for universal education as parents will be confident of enrolling their wards in schools with strong believe that the government will support their education.
This is a welcome development and we hope the governor will leverage on this popular decision by looking into the pension of retired teachers to encourage those in active service to continue to give their best. We are aware a lot of reforms are going on in that sector as we hope to start reaping the fruits of the reforms soon”, he said.
PORT HARCOURT—Former Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi has said he left a balance of between eight to ten billion naira for his successor, Governor Nyesom Wike.
In a statement from his from his media office yesterday, the former governor denied that he handed over an empty treasury to his successor.
The statement by the former Governor’s media office, yesterday, revealed that a total of N7.5 billion cash was left behind as balances in the State Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, account with Skye Bank, FAAC account with Zenith Bank, balances with Access Bank and funds in the State reserve fund account in First Bank.
“This is besides other balances in the state Government House account with Zenith Bank and other government MDA accounts, like the Bureau for Public Procurement, BPP. By the time you pull all these together, we are looking at readily available cash in the region of eight to ten billion naira left for the Wike administration.”
“It’s also pertinent to point out here that former governor Amaechi also left economic assets worth tens of billions of naira for the state. Just like cash, the assets store value. These assets that are scattered in diverse sectors of the economy were developed or built or procured with revenue that accrued to the state during Amaechi’s tenure. The assets belong to Rivers State, not Amaechi. Some of these assets are presently yielding revenue to the state coffers, and many can be easily and readily converted to cash, if the State so desires.
“It is therefore disingenuous and fraudulent for Wike to claim that Amaechi left an empty treasury in his bid to justify the N30 billion loans he collected under 30 days in office. Rather than this puerile and silly distraction of always pointing accusing fingers at Amaechi, Wike should come out to explain to Rivers people what he took the loans for, account for and justify every kobo that has been spent from the loans”, the statement concluded.
But media aide to governor Nyesom Wike, Mr Opunabo Nko-Tariah, described the claim by the former governor as another tissue of lies, stressing that if he left what he claimed how come civil servants, pensioners , footballers, contractors were owed by his government.
He said even students on the state scholarship program overseas were almost sent out of the classroom over unpaid fees, adding that the issue was not all about empty treasury alone as properties in Government House, Port Harcourt were allegedly looted before the handover date of May 29..
Governor Wike had consistently maintained that he met a completely empty treasury when he took over as governor.
Only on Wednesday, while trying to justify why he took a total of N30 billion bank loans from Zenith and Access banks under 30 days in office, Wike had through his spokesman, Opunabo Inko-Tariah told a radio station in Port Harcourt that he met an empty treasury when he took over government.
However, Amaechi has openly put a lie to Wike’s claim, saying he left billions of naira in cash and economic assets for Rivers State.

APC State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, yesterday, said George like the Lagos PDP Chairman, Tunji Shelle was woken up from a chronic hallucination after suffering a devastating defeat in the hands of APC.
“Why is Bode George finding it difficult to believe that the game is over for him in Nigerian politics talk less of Lagos State? Who will tell Bode George that nobody takes him serious again in matters of Nigerian politics? Who will persuade Chief George to quit politics now in his own interest?

Google has been ordered to remove nine links to news stories by the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under the "right to be forgotten".
Details of a "minor criminal offence" were referenced in the stories regarding an individual, the ICO said.
Earlier links about the case had already been removed - but this act of removal itself later became news.
It is the links to those new articles, when searched for via the individual's name, which must now be removed.
In a statement, the ICO revealed that Google had refused to remove the links when asked by the complainant, which is why officials are now stepping in.
Being able to access the links by searching for the complainant by name constitutes a breach of the Data Protection Act, according to the ICO.
"Let's be clear. We understand that links being removed as a result of this court ruling is something that newspapers want to write about," said deputy commissioner David Smith.
"And we understand that people need to be able to find these stories through search engines like Google.
"But that does not need them to be revealed when searching on the original complainant's name."
The ICO says that Google must remove the links within 35 days of the order, dated 18 August.
Google has so far declined to comment.
Messy compromise
The situation was described as a "messy compromise" by Ian Walden, professor of information and communications law at Queen Mary, University of London.
"You can search under 'right to be forgotten', 'takedown', and you can look at the whole discussion about whether it's being taken down," he told the BBC, "but if you search the individual's name you should get a different set of search results."
Dr Walden added that as the complexity of removal requests grows, it's possible that search engines like Google may become less willing to challenge them.
"In five years' time perhaps Google will say, 'It's not worth the hassle, let's take down more stuff, let's not spend as much time evaluating the case,' - they obviously have to employ people for this," he said.
"My concern is it [will become] easier and easier to get stuff taken down when in fact there continues to be a balancing act that needs to be carried out," he said.
Super Eagles Chief Coach, Sunday Oliseh yesterday explained why he left out Chelsea of England midfielder, John Mikel Obi from his list of players invited for the forthcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Tanzania. Rebels from Greece's governing left-wing Syriza are to break away and form a new party.
Prime Minister and Syriza leader Alexis Tsipras stood down on Thursday, paving the way for new elections.
The move came after he lost the support of many of his own MPs in a vote on the country's new bailout with European creditors earlier this month.
Greek media reports say 25 rebel Syriza MPs will join the new party, called Laiki Enotita (Popular Unity).
The party will be led by former energy minister Panagiotis Lafazanis, who was strongly opposed to the bailout deal, reports say.
A list of MPs joining the party published by the Ta Nea newspaper showed that the parliamentary speaker Zoe Konstantopulou and former finance minister Yanis Varoufakis were not among its members.
Both had opposed a new bailout deal, with Ms Konstantopulou highly critical of her former ally Mr Tsipras.
'Eurozone dictatorship'
Syriza won 149 seats in Greece's 300-seat parliament in the last election in January.
The conservative New Democracy party came second, with 76 seats.
The new Popular Unity party becomes the third largest in parliament.
In exchange for a new €86bn ($95bn; £61bn) from European partners, Mr Tsipras had to agree to painful state sector cuts, including far-reaching pension reforms - and keep Greece in the eurozone.
Close to a third of Syriza's MPs abstained or voted against the terms of the new deal last week.
At the time, Mr Lafazanis said he was determined to "smash the eurozone dictatorship".
On Friday morning, the head of conservative New Democracy party, Vangelis Meimarakis, met with Greece's president and he will now be given three days to form a government.
Observers say he does not have enough support and elections will be called.
Reports suggest the election - the fifth in six years - will be called for 20 September.
If Mr Meimarakis fails to form a government, the chance will be given to the new party, analysts say, and then the far-right Golden Dawn party.
They, too, are unlikely to be able to gain enough allies to establish a government.
All parties can waive the right to negotiate and allow the president to approve a snap election.
Mr Meimarakis, however, has said he will try and use his mandate to form a government in the next few days.

Australian actress Maggie Kirkpatrick has avoided jail time after being found guilty of sexually abusing a teenage girl in 1984.BBC News
Kirkpatrick, 74, who starred in the Australian TV drama Prisoner Cell Block H, denied charges of gross indecency with a person under 16.
The court ruled on Thursday she had abused the 14-year-girl at her Melbourne home.
Kirkpatrick on Friday was sentenced to 100 hours of community service.
She will be placed on a sex offenders' registry for eight years and has to undergo a sex offenders program and rehabilitation assessment.
In sentencing, Melbourne Magistrate Peter Mealy said Kirkpatrick would have been jailed if the offences were not historical in nature, local media said.
In a statement read to the court on Thursday, the unnamed victim said she had organised a meeting with Kirkpatrick through a TV producer while she was a patient in a psychiatric hospital.
She said she had not reported the abuse until recently because she feared people would call her "crazy".
Kirkpatrick played a warden called Joan, nicknamed the Freak, in Prisoner, a popular series set in a women's prison.
She later appeared in a host of other Australian TV shows and in 1991 played Marilyn's aunt Jean Chambers in Home and Away. Her most recent role was in a stage production of the musical Wicked.

Abdul Kader al-Guneid managed to post one last tweet before he was dragged barefoot from his home in Yemen by plainclothes gunmen last week.
"Houthi militiamen are at my house," the 66-year-old doctor and human rights activist wrote on Wednesday afternoon. Then, his Twitter feed fell silent. His wife saw him being taken away by men she said she recognized as among the Houthi rebels controlling their hometown of Taiz. His family has not seen or heard from him since.
Al-Guneid's disappearance sent shivers through the small community of Yemeni activists trying to keep the outside world informed about the conflict raging in their country. "What happened to Abdul Kader freaked us all out," political analyst Hisham al-Omeisy told The WorldPost. "It sets a precedent that they take people who are just active on Twitter."
Al-Guneid is both a vocal critic of the Houthis and a tireless chronicler of the war. The day he was abducted began with his usual stream of Twitter posts. "Awaken by two blasts, that shook my house," he wrote that morning, referring to airstrikes from a Saudi-led campaign trying to oust the rebels and their allies. Like many others in Yemen, al-Guneid had stopped leaving his house unless absolutely necessary, his family said.
Many Yemenis live in fear of the relentless airstrikes and ground clashes that have claimed over 4,000 lives already. Severe fuel shortages make it nearly impossible to get around in any case. And al-Guneid had a particular cause for concern: the threatening phone calls and Facebook messages he had been receiving in recent months. So he was sitting at home, posting information about airstrikes, casualties and protests in his area, when the gunmen broke through his back door and took him away last week, according to his family.
"He was one of very few information sources in Taiz who wrote in Arabic and provided the English translation, which drew the attention of Western journalists and others," his 30-year-old daughter Nagwan al-Guneid, a graduate student living in Canada, told The WorldPost. "He believed in giving Taiz a voice through social media and international media outlets," she said.

PARIS (AP) — Jean-Marie Le Pen, who co-founded France's far-right National Front, has been excluded from the party following a disciplinary hearing.
The decision was announced in a statement hours after the end of a three-hour hearing by the party's executive bureau, during which the 87-year-old Le Pen defended himself against a list of 15 complaints.
Party president Marine Le Pen, the elder's daughter, has been trying for months to oust her father, who held the title of honorary president for life.
A statement said the executive bureau "deliberated and decided ... the exclusion of Mr. Jean-Marie Le Pen as member of the National Front."
His lawyer, Frederic Joachim called the decision a "political assassination."
